Books
God So Loved The World.
My friend Paul Robertson
and I wrote this book to provide a
readable account of our non-Calvinistic theology
and understanding of the Bible's teaching about
predestination. This is available in print form at

To Understand Each Other.
From 1978-1988 I participated in a dialogue between
Southern Baptist and Roman Catholic academics. We wrote three books
together. This is the third of those. It was published as an issue of the
journal The Theological Educator. We wrote this book in the hope
that it will help Catholic and Baptist laypersons and clergy
to understand each other better.
Thinking about God.
I wrote this book as a text for my Christian Theology
classes and for use by churches and other groups. The first edition was
published in 1974, the second in 1994, and the third in 2016. This is the
third edition.
A Personal History.
Somewhere in my forties it occurred to me that if one of my parents or
grandparents had written down stories about his or her life or about the
lives of his or her ancestors, I would treasure that book. It was a short
move from there to the idea that my children and grandchildren, and perhaps
in the future their children, might someday come to treasure a book like
that. That is when I decided to write this book.
